Hexio test3/22/2023 ![]() ![]() Monitoring would be things like graphs of memory and disk, that only become alerts when they go bad In other words: stuff that does not immediately impact the client If you're on call you're expected to check out less imporant stuff once in a while (or at least once) Monitoring here is for everything that might impact the client Humans shouldn't be "watching the screens" thats what monitoring is for. Hyperized, yeah, full /tmp on the control node makes funny errors :)Īnd our on-call had not been watching the screens, only waited to be paged :/ Pro-tip: monitor your Ansible server as if it were a first line production server :P That way I can keep a single AMI, but still have it configured the way I want it. Adding it as a dependency of that role would be incorrect, not to mention something I shouldn't be doing because the dependency role isn't even authored by me :) The depedency role doesn't strictly require these changes, they're required as a modification for the current role. Shaps: That's not exactly semantically correct in my case. ![]() Jonne: Here's what I do, I use cloud-init to download Ansible, download my Ansible "code" and apply the playbook. This is a new behaviour on the project and I have no idea what’s happening, any suggestions? Hey all, I’m using vagrant with ansible and when I run `vagrant up -provision`, it seems to be running and rerunnign the playbook in some kind of infinite loop. Jonne - yeah, cloud-config is consistent and mostly reliable The cloud-config stuff lokks like the way to go So, if i create an image with ansible, turn it into an AMI and add it to an autoscaling group, authorized_keys gets overwritten with the key you select in the launch config? Jonne: You can use cloud-init to do that by passing custom user data ( and ) Or is it better to add stuff to ~/.ssh/aithorized_keys after the fact? When using ec2 to spin up instances, is it possible to add more than one key pair? I think as play_hosts -> delegate_host isn't keyless ![]() I have slurped SSH keys from my play_hosts and I want to install them on another hosts - but I'm getting SSH failed It seems it connects ansible_host -> inventory_host -> delegate_host ![]()
